A space to create

This is so important. Having a space to create. No matter what we do in life, we need this space to create. It's essential to fulfilling the true potential of who we are. Whenever I find myself lost and at loose ends, it's usually because I've allowed my creative space to be overrun by chores, work, cooking, kids, husband, etc. I have to regroup and find that space. It can be internal or external and it must be found.

I've lost it recently and yet I can feel it tugging, tugging at me. Trying to get me to come back to center. Finish the two songs that have been running around in your head for months!!! Make the space to find the words, the melody, the completeness that comes with getting it out.

I pray for the openness to create without restraint, without judgement.

New Venues

It makes me feel so good to get a phone call from someone with a gig suggestion. My friend Sandra called me the other day to tell me about a place called the Twisted Harp off Belair Road. They have live music and she said that I could certainly do what was being done there.

It's cool to have people have such faith in my ability and to want to help me find new opportunies. Isn't that what it's all about. Each of else helping the other in our own way. Thanks Sandra!

Friday, June 4, 2010 - Friends

I've been thinking about my life and how blessed I am to have the people in it that I have. My friends are many and varied, they don't all know each other, they come from all over the country. Some are musicians, some are artists of other kinds. Some are psychic, some work with their hands, some work in corporate America and some work from home.

Each of them has a place in my heart, a memory that is just ours to share. Some of my friends I have just met and others span a lifetime. How rich am I to share my life with these people? Richer than I could have ever imagined.

Thank you for all for the unique blessing that each of you bring to my life. I could not imagine my life without you.
